It’s Christmas night, and I couldn’t be happier. I am curled up in my bed with a cup of hot cocoa, still wearing my festive striped knee-socks from this morning. Last night sugarplums danced in my head, and I was filled with wonderful dreams that only seem to occur that strongly on the night before Christmas. To chase away any bad dreams in the new year, my mom gave me a gift that I absolutely adore - a beautiful pure white dream catcher with crystals. To add to the perfectness of this gift, she also gave my kitten a matching little white dream catcher, so they can hang side by side above my bed. I love the idea of my little snuggly baby having dreams of wishes and fishes.
Santa brought me the most beautiful painting. It had a note with it explaining that my mom had had it designed for me based on a fairytale I’ve carried near to my heart my whole life. If you read two posts ago you already know what it is; I have always wanted to live in a beautiful castle. So Santa brought me a painting; A gorgeous, enormous painting that takes up an entire wall… depicting me in a gown, in a dressing room in the castle, about to walk out to the ball. I love everything about it; the colors, the dress she’s wearing… the way she is holding her gown up in one hand, as if her heels might snag the fabric. It’s perfect.
And it was a perfect day.
Merry Christmas, everyone.

This picture reminds me of whoville, the perfect Christmas city. Tucked away on Christmas Eve, in little bedrooms inside little houses, are lots of little boys and girls who are so excited for tomorrow morning that they can’t even sleep. Santa will be flying over this little town soon, delivering everyone’s wishes (and fishes… if you are like my youngest sister. She asked Santa for a single fish. Dream big, little one… dream big).
I myself am tucked into bed in my own little room in my own little house in my own little town. My snuggly kitten is cuddled up at my side, my presents for my family are all under the tree. I’m going to put on “It’s a wonderful life” and fall asleep.
I hope everyone has an amazing evening and day tomorrow, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, and that everyone remembers what this day is about: family, happiness, and celebration in what you believe. Sleep well.
